- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Trim the ends off the green beans and rinse them thoroughly under cold water. Set them aside.
- Place a large skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter, melting until sizzles.
- Toss in the minced garlic, stirring for about a minute until aromatic.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and stir occasionally for 4-5 minutes until browned and tender.
- Gently fold in the green beans, then sprinkle with salt and pepper. Stir well.
- Cover the skillet and let the beans cook for about 5-7 minutes until tender, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the lid, add the remaining tablespoon of butter, stir until melted, then squeeze the lemon juice over the top.
- Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
For variations, consider adding sliced almonds, diced bell peppers, or red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
