Description

A vibrant side dish featuring crisp green beans and tender mushrooms sautéed in a luscious garlic butter sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Trim the ends off the green beans and rinse them thoroughly under cold water. Set them aside.
  2. Place a large skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter, melting until sizzles.
  3. Toss in the minced garlic, stirring for about a minute until aromatic.
  4. Add the sliced mushrooms and stir occasionally for 4-5 minutes until browned and tender.
  5. Gently fold in the green beans, then sprinkle with salt and pepper. Stir well.
  6. Cover the skillet and let the beans cook for about 5-7 minutes until tender, stirring occasionally.
  7. Remove the lid, add the remaining tablespoon of butter, stir until melted, then squeeze the lemon juice over the top.
  8. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

For variations, consider adding sliced almonds, diced bell peppers, or red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
