Description

Yakgwa are traditional Korean honey cookies that are sweet, chewy, and have a delightful nutty flavor, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, mix honey, sesame oil, and water until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. If using, fold in the chopped walnuts.
  5. Shape the dough into small oval or round cookies.
  6. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the cookies until golden brown.
  7. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  8. Let cool before serving.
