A rich and flaky all-butter pie crust perfect for any pie filling.
Ingredients

- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cut into cubes
- 6–8 tablespoons ice water
Instructions
- Combine the flour, salt, and sugar (if using) in a food processor. Pulse a few times to mix uniformly.
- Add the chilled butter cubes to the flour mixture. Pulse until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time. Pulse after each addition until the dough just comes together.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and divide it into two discs.
- Wrap each disc tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and fit it to your desired pie dish.
Notes
Ensure your butter is cold for flaky layers. Chill the dough for the best results.
