Description

Delightful banana donuts topped with a creamy cinnamon cream cheese frosting, perfect for brunch or a sweet afternoon snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease your donut pan with non-stick spray or butter.
  2. Combine the mashed bananas, sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, alternating with the milk, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Fill the donut pan cavities about 3/4 full with the batter.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Cool the donuts in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. Prepare the frosting by beating softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until smooth.
  9. Frost the cooled donuts and serve immediately.

Notes

Make-ahead tips include preparing the batter the night before. Use ripe bananas for optimal sweetness, and avoid overmixing the batter for light donuts.
