Description

A heartwarming dish with fork-tender beef simmered in a rich gravy, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs Beef Tips (Sirloin or Chuck)
  • 1 Onion, Chopped
  • 2 Cups Beef Broth
  • 1/4 Cup Flour
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • Mashed Potatoes, Rice, or Egg Noodles for Serving

Instructions

  1. Heat Olive Oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Sauté Onion until translucent and golden, about 5 minutes.
  3. Season the beef tips with salt and pepper, then dust lightly with flour.
  4. Sear the beef tips until browned on all sides, about 4-5 minutes each side.
  5. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute.
  6. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping the browned bits from the bottom.
  7. Simmer the mixture, cover, and reduce heat to low for about 1 hour or until the beef is fork-tender.
  8. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.

Notes

For a lighter version, swap beef broth for vegetable broth. Add red wine for depth.
