Description

A delightful dessert featuring flaky puff pastry enveloping a rich vanilla custard and vibrant mixed berries, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 cup vanilla custard (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface until slightly larger than its original dimensions.
  3. Spread a layer of custard evenly over the pastry, leaving about an inch around the edges free of filling.
  4. Disperse the mixed berries over the custard.
  5. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling, shaping it into a strudel, and seal tightly.
  6. Brush the top with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffy.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and dust with powdered sugar.

Notes

Customize the filling with seasonal fruits or chocolate chips. Prepare custard and berries a day in advance for optimal flavor.
