- 2 cups sourdough starter
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Combine the sourdough starter, warm water, and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
- Incorporate the flour and salt until a dough starts to form.
- Knead for about 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Fold in the blueberries, lemon zest, and lemon juice gently.
- Place the dough in a warm area to rise for 1-2 hours, until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Cut slashes on the top of the dough and dollop softened cream cheese on top.
- Let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool before slicing.
