Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sourdough starter
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Combine the sourdough starter, warm water, and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Incorporate the flour and salt until a dough starts to form.
  3. Knead for about 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  4. Fold in the blueberries, lemon zest, and lemon juice gently.
  5. Place the dough in a warm area to rise for 1-2 hours, until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Cut slashes on the top of the dough and dollop softened cream cheese on top.
  9. Let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Cool before slicing.
