Description

A perfectly glazed Brown Sugar Glazed Ham, featuring a rich and sweet glaze of brown sugar, honey, and spices, making it an irresistible centerpiece for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Prepare the glaze: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together brown sugar, honey, orange juice, Dijon mustard, ground ginger, and ground cloves until smooth.
  3. Place the ham flat-side down in a roasting pan. Score the surface in a diamond pattern.
  4. Brush the glaze generously over the surface of the ham.
  5. Cover loosely with aluminum foil to keep the ham moist.
  6. Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
  7. Remove foil for the last 30 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
  8. Check the internal temperature: it should reach 140°F (60°C).
  9. Let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Prepare the glaze a day in advance for deeper flavor. Adjust cooking times for air frying or slow cooking methods.
