Description

A delightful poke cake that captures the essence of classic cinnamon rolls, soaked in sweetened condensed milk and topped with whipped cream.


Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions and grease a 9×13-inch cake pan.
  2. Whisk together the cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  4. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together, then sprinkle evenly over the cake batter.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool the cake for about 10 minutes, then use a toothpick to poke holes all over the top.
  7. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the cake, allowing it to soak in.
  8. Let the cake cool completely, which may take an hour or two.
  9. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gradually add in powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
  10. Frost the cooled cake with the whipped cream and chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.
