Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your 9×13 inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Combine the flour, granulated sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl. Cut in the softened butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Reserve 1 cup of this mixture for the topping.
  3. Press the remaining mixture into your prepared baking dish to create a sturdy crust.
  4. Mix the diced apples with lemon juice, cinnamon, and brown sugar until well-coated, then spread this mixture evenly over the crust.
  5. Crumble the reserved topping mixture over the apple layer.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool before drizzling with caramel sauce.
