Description
A comforting dish of juicy beef patties enveloped in rich mushroom gravy, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl and mix gently until just combined.
- Form the mixture into oval patties, about ¾ inch thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden-brown. Remove the patties and set aside.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the same skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes until they release moisture and develop flavor.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms, stirring for one minute. Gradually stir in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce until the mixture thickens into gravy.
- Return the patties to the skillet, simmering covered for about 10 minutes.
- Serve hot over creamy mashed potatoes or rice.
Notes
For a healthier option, consider air frying the patties. You can also customize the dish with greens like spinach or kale.
