Description

A delightful cake bursting with fresh strawberries and a gooey jammy center, perfect for summer gatherings and family desserts.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • 1/4 cup sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Mix in the vanilla extract until the batter looks pale and creamy.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
  7. Fold in the chopped strawberries gently with a spatula.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  9. Dollop strawberry jam over the top and swirl it through the batter.
  10. Sprinkle sugar over the top.
  11. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  12. Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving.
