Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in the vanilla extract until the batter looks pale and creamy.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Fold in the chopped strawberries gently with a spatula.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Dollop strawberry jam over the top and swirl it through the batter.
- Sprinkle sugar over the top.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving.
