Description

A comforting blend of classic cheesesteak flavors intermingled with Sloppy Joe heartiness, served on soft buns.

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Heat your skillet: Begin by pouring the olive oil into a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Sauté aromatics: Add in the diced onion and green bell pepper, sautéing for about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and mushrooms: Stir in the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms, cooking for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Brown the beef: Turn up the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Simmer the goodness: Reduce the heat, then add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, seasoning with salt and pepper. Let simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  6. Melt the cheese: Uncover, place provolone cheese atop, turn off the heat, and cover for a couple of minutes.
  7. Serve and savor: Scoop the mixture onto hamburger buns and enjoy immediately.
