Description

Delightful homemade peppermint patties with a smooth minty filling encased in rich dark chocolate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix your filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, softened cream cheese, and peppermint extract, blending until cohesive.
  2. Shape the patties: Mold small amounts of the mixture into discs and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Chill the discs: Freeze the baking sheet for about 30 minutes to firm them up.
  4. Melt the chocolate: Use a microwave or double boiler to melt the dark chocolate chips with coconut oil until smooth.
  5. Dip the patties: Using a fork, dip each frozen disc into the melted chocolate and allow excess to drip off.
  6. Set the patties: Return the coated patties to the baking sheet and refrigerate until the chocolate hardens, about 30 minutes.
  7. Savor the treats: Enjoy your homemade peppermint patties fresh or store them for later.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks. Freeze individual patties wrapped in wax paper for up to three months.
