Description

A comforting skillet dish featuring ground beef and fresh broccoli, enveloped in a creamy cheddar sauce, perfect for a low-carb meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet: Drizzle olive oil into a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Brown the beef: Add the ground beef and break it apart with a spatula, sautéing until browned, about 6–8 minutes.
  3. Sauté onions and garlic: Push the beef to one side, add diced onion and minced garlic, and cook for about 3 minutes.
  4. Add broccoli: Toss in the broccoli florets with the beef and let sauté for about a minute.
  5. Season the mix: Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, and stir thoroughly.
  6. Cover and steam: Cover the skillet and cook for 5–7 minutes, checking halfway through.
  7. Pour in cream: Reduce heat to low and add heavy cream, stirring gently.
  8. Cheese it up: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top, cover again, and let it melt for 2–3 minutes.
  9. Add final seasonings: Drizzle Worcestershire sauce and sprinkle red pepper flakes before gently stirring.
  10. Serve hot: Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute ground turkey or chicken. Use different cheeses for a unique twist.
