- 500g Bread Flour
- 350g Water
- 100g Active Sourdough Starter
- 10g Salt
Instructions
- Mix the bread flour and water until combined. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Add the active sourdough starter and salt, mixing thoroughly until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 4-6 hours until it has doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it in a parchment-lined baking dish.
- Let it rest for another 30 minutes for the second rise.
- Score the top of the loaf to allow steam to escape while baking.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
- Let the loaf cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
If desired, you can add herbs or dried fruits for variations. Store any leftover bread wrapped in parchment paper at room temperature.
