Description

A quick and easy recipe for homemade sourdough bread that provides a crispy crust and soft, airy interior in just a few hours.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g Bread Flour
  • 350g Water
  • 100g Active Sourdough Starter
  • 10g Salt

Instructions

  1. Mix the bread flour and water until combined. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Add the active sourdough starter and salt, mixing thoroughly until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 4-6 hours until it has doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  6. Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it in a parchment-lined baking dish.
  7. Let it rest for another 30 minutes for the second rise.
  8. Score the top of the loaf to allow steam to escape while baking.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
  10. Let the loaf cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

If desired, you can add herbs or dried fruits for variations. Store any leftover bread wrapped in parchment paper at room temperature.
