Description

A comforting one-pot smoked sausage pasta that blends rich flavors and textures for an unforgettable meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces pasta (e.g., penne or rotini)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar or mozzarella)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in your large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced smoked sausage to the pot and brown it for about 5 minutes.
  3. Toss in the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion turns translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Pour in the diced tomatoes along with the chicken broth and stir to combine.
  5. Toss in the pasta, bringing the mixture to a boil.
  6. Reduce the heat, cover, and let it simmer for 10-12 minutes or until the pasta cooks al dente.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream and shredded cheese until melted and well combined.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, then serve hot!

Notes

For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes during the final stages of cooking.
