Description

A cozy dish of seared steak and creamy rice, enveloped in a sweet and tangy honey barbecue sauce, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound steak (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup honey BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  2. Season the bite-sized steak pieces generously with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Sear for 4-5 minutes until browned.
  3. Stir in the uncooked rice, then pour in the chicken broth. Bring to a rolling boil.
  4. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender.
  5. Uncover and pour in the honey BBQ sauce and heavy cream, stirring well to combine.
  6. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Serve warm with a garnish of chopped green onions.

Notes

For more flavor, marinate the steak in BBQ sauce overnight. Customize with vegetables like bell peppers or corn.
