Description

A comforting dish that combines spicy Italian sausage with creamy Parmesan cheese and tender pasta in a rich tomato sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian Sausage
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 28 oz Canned Tomatoes (whole or crushed)
  • 15 oz Tomato Sauce
  • 8 oz Pasta (spaghetti or penne)
  • 1 tsp Basil (fresh or dried)
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Toss in the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the Italian sausage, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Pour in the canned tomatoes and tomato sauce, season with salt, pepper, and basil. Let simmer for about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
  6. Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss until well-coated with the sauce.
  7. Serve in bowls, garnished with Parmesan cheese.
