- 8 slices of bacon
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons bourbon
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the bacon: Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat, add bacon slices, and cook until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Crumble the bacon.
- Prepare the mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, maple syrup, bourbon, mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth.
- Incorporate the bacon: Fold the crumbled bacon into the cheese mixture.
- Bake: Transfer to a greased baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until bubbling.
- Garnish and serve: Top with green onions and serve warm with crackers or breadsticks.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature cream cheese. Can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator.
