Description

Soft and chewy sourdough pretzel bites, perfect for any occasion, served with your favorite dipping sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups sourdough discard
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • Coarse salt for sprinkling
  • Cheese sauce or mustard for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the sourdough discard, flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add warm water gradually, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 3-5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Divide the dough into small pieces and roll into bite-sized shapes.
  6. Boil water in a pot and add baking soda carefully.
  7. Place each pretzel bite in boiling water for 30 seconds, then transfer to the baking sheet.
  8. Sprinkle with coarse salt.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm with cheese sauce or mustard.

Notes

Make the dough a day ahead and refrigerate. Reheat in the oven for optimal texture.
