- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Food coloring (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)
- Frosting or sprinkles for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line your 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients and mix just until combined.
- Divide the cookie dough into six equal portions and add food coloring to each portion.
- Layer the colored dough in the prepared pan, spreading each layer evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bars cool completely before frosting or adding sprinkles on top.
Notes
These bars can be made in an air fryer; adjust the temperature to 320°F for approximately 15 minutes.
