Description

Delightful and colorful bars with a buttery texture, perfect for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Food coloring (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)
  • Frosting or sprinkles for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line your 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients and mix just until combined.
  6. Divide the cookie dough into six equal portions and add food coloring to each portion.
  7. Layer the colored dough in the prepared pan, spreading each layer evenly.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the bars cool completely before frosting or adding sprinkles on top.

Notes

These bars can be made in an air fryer; adjust the temperature to 320°F for approximately 15 minutes.
