- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- Whipped cream for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking dish.
- Combine the all-purpose flour and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl. Add the softened butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press the crumbly mixture evenly into the bottom of your greased baking dish.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the edges turn a light golden brown.
- Whisk together the eggs and granulated sugar in another bowl. Add the milk, vanilla extract, and cornstarch, whisking until smooth.
- Fold in the sliced strawberries gently into the custard mixture.
- Pour the strawberry custard mixture over the baked crust and spread it evenly.
- Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until the custard has set.
- Let the pan cool completely before cutting into squares.
- Top with freshly whipped cream if desired and serve.
Notes
Make-ahead by preparing a day in advance and refrigerating. For quicker results, an air fryer can be used.
