- 1 whole turkey (12–14 pounds)
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
- 1 lemon, halved
- 1 orange, halved
- 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 2 onions, quartered
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Remove the turkey from the packaging and pat it dry with paper towels.
- Season the turkey generously inside and out with salt and pepper.
- Rub olive oil all over the turkey.
- Stuff the cavity with fresh herbs, lemon, orange, onions, and garlic.
- Place the turkey on a roasting rack within a large roasting pan.
- Pour the chicken broth into the pan.
- Roast the turkey for about 3 to 4 hours.
- Baste the turkey every 30 minutes.
- Allow the turkey to rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
- Serve and enjoy with family and friends.
